? about pregnancy and hair dye
Can you get your hair dyed/highlighted if pregnant? is it safe?
specifally wondering if you can get it done if you just found out you are PG?

Some doctors will tell you no, others yes.
My doctor told me to do it after my first trimester. My SIL's doctor told her to color her hair when her pregnancy is over.

personally, I am avoiding doing that and getting my nails done until Scone is born.....
there's no evidence that hair dye / highlights are unsafe, but as far as I know, there's also no evidence that they ARE safe.... When the data aren't there, I err on the side of caution......
(as for nail polish, it's common knowledge that the organics in polish and the remover are unsafe and are able to pass through the skin... so that's why my toes this year are not revlon red  )

I totally agree my hair greying and I do not care LOL I am although having ym nails done for my shower but the girl who usually does them is coming to my house...

Each doctor is different. Some doctors will say it's fine others will say no. My doctor said no dying of the hair. But I could highlight my hair because it doesnt actually touch the scalp.
I've highlighted my hair in June

I have highlighted my hair, and get manis and pedis regularly, and my baby is fine. When i go tomorow i am going to ask for a foot massage too!

I had two obstetricians from different practices - both female - tell me that dying hair at home is completely ok, though it is preferred to wait until the first trimester is over. They emphasized that they colored their own hair throughout their pregnancies.

As long as it doesn't touch the scalp it's ok. I had my hair highlighted right after I found out I was pregnant (I think the same week I founf out). I told my stylist and he was extra careful not to get it on my scalp, and we just did highlights, not the full dye.

In "Your Pregnancy Week by Week" it says dying your hair is fine but just make sure it is well ventilated.

You rebel! I did all of the above with Grace and she is perfectly healthy as well.
