Re: Above ground pools....trashy????
I have seen some people make them incredibly awesome looking. I had both growing up (different houses, not at the same house to me, a pool is a pool!!! While I prefer the look of in ground pools, if someone invited me over for a swim in an above ground pool, I wouldn't say no
BTW, this looks awesome!

Re: Above ground pools....trashy????
I don't care for them. I did grow up with one though and had some great times. I think they only look ok when taken care of nicely and semi inground or with a deck around it.
The sad thing is many people neglect their pools and it starts to look trashy for sure then.

Well that looks very nice! But MOST people don't do that.

DH wants one. I don't like them at all and for the most part don't find them aesthically pleasing unless it's with a deck attached to a house.
DH knew this was going to be a problem after the bottled beer debacle. I think bottled beer looks trashy at black tie events.
I know a girl who only had the beer poured into the glasses at her wedding, no bottles.
I can sort of understand this, although I did not do this myself.

OK, underground pools can cost $15000 and raise your real estate taxes $15000 a year, so that's a really rude comment.

Re: Above ground pools....trashy????
My neighbor in the back of me has one and yes it looks very disgusting. I dont think they maintain it.
My next door neighbor had one, that was left sitting with huge black plastic all over it. and when they sold the new owners made them take it down.
The picture someone posted, it looks very very nice and very well kept.
I think it depends on the neighbor and how they maintain their pool
Because you can have an inground pool that is absolutely disgusting and has algae growing and brown stuff and leaves and grime and that can look very very bad too
