Accidentally left a dozen eggs out overnight...
I put them back in the fridge this morning, but is it still okay to use them?

I'm assuming her house is a constant temp, though, and cooler than outside.
Then again, I fear food issues, so I'd probably toss them to be safe anyway.

We keep the air really low at night b/c we like it cold to sleep and the eggs still felt cold to the touch in the morning, but yea I think i'll just toss them.

Yes, they are fine. Eggs shouldn't be refridgerated ideally.

Eggs shouldn't be refridgerated ideally.
That's only fresh eggs- if you buy them from a fridge, they need ot go in a fridge.

Re: Accidentally left a dozen eggs out overnight...
Test the eggs if you're unsure:
To confirm that an egg is good float it in a bowl of water that will allow it to 'sink or swim'. If the egg sinks it is good. If it floats, discard it.

In the UK our supermarket eggs aren't refridgerated and we don't refridgerate them normally.

Interesting!
Here in the US, we buy and keep them refrigerated.

Since you buy them unrefridgerated, you do not have to refrigerated them but the minute they go in the refridgerator...they must stay that way....
I learned that on my trip to El Salvador...everyone sells eggs from thier house...and no refrigeration!!

I guess I'll be the lone U.S.-residing dissenter to say that they're probably okay, and I would use them.

Re: Accidentally left a dozen eggs out overnight...
I would have to throw them away. Ten people could tell me they would be ok but I would never be able to bring myself to eat them and I'd end up letting the expiration date pass and then toss them.

Thats right! Eggs don't deal with temperature changes very well. I made a cheesecake recently with cold eggs and it curdled. So from now on, all my eggs are being kept on the counter!!
