Acne during pregnancy
Ok I never had clear skin but I used AcneFree & it kept everything under control, but it contains Sacylic Acid (sp?) and I know we shouldn't use it during pregnancy and ofcourse my DR confirmed, he said I can use Benzoly Peroxide (sp?) What do you ladies use? I feel soooo dsigusting, and the pimples are like the ones under the skin and they hurt

Re: Acne during pregnancy
Salicylic acid is one of those "depends on the dr" things. It's not a set rule. My dr has no issue with it all but did say to be weary of Benzoyl Peroxide and any of the "rejuvenating" cleansers that have similar ingredients to Retin-A....so, you can see it depends on the dr. So I have used my normal skin cleanser which has salycylic acid throughout my healthy pregnancy. That said, for most women the acne goes away after the first trimester, but like I said in an earlier post, mine has remained and my skin has been awful my entire pregnancy no matter what I use or don't use and my due date is soon.....so hopefully your skin clears up soon!!

Re: Acne during pregnancy
my dr said no salicylic acid... and so did the dermatologist.
in fact, she said that the only thing she could recommend is a good facial.
I went to SpaTique medical spa in Smithtown a few weeks ago and haven't had any of those huge cystic pimples since. I made sure to tell the facialist that I was in my first trimester, so she didn't use anything harsh - just cleansers and steam and some extractions. I was very happy with it! In fact, I still have a $40 gc there...I may schedule another for next month

Re: Acne during pregnancy
I am so frustrated with this acne! I now HAVE to wear makeup everyday to try and cover it. I have the big ones under the skin too. My dermatologist put me on Azelex and Erythromycin gel but they are not doing much at all. My OB confirmed that I should not be using Benzoyl Peroxide or Salicylic acid. It is very difficult to manage and they hurt. Hopefully it won't last for the whole pregnancy! Some ladies on here had recommended using an oatmeal bar and witch hazel so I have added that to my routine but haven't seen any benefits yet, maybe it will work for you.

Re: Acne during pregnancy
Yea I posted about this earlier today wondering if it goes away for most in the 2nd tri.
I'm just dealing with it, not using any crazy face products (just aveeno face wash) b/c I know a lot of the ingredients aren't safe. Just hoping it'll go away soon and if not, oh well it comes with the territory right?!

i saw the dermatologist and am also on prescription erythromicin (OK'd by my dr). It still isn't perfect, but it's much better than without any prescription!

I dont know if this is a Polish thing but when people say oh you have that glow, you look so good, you're going to have a & if you break out and you look like cR-Ap then they say you're going to have a (bc shes taking away your beauty) Anyone ever hear that or it just a polish thing?

Re: Acne during pregnancy
I had bad acne on my neck during pregnancy. My Dr gave me clindamyacin liquid which worked-ask about that
