ADjusting to daycare (18m olds or so) ADVICE PLEASE !
Whats the routine or right thing to do to adjust your child to daycare?
if I leave him for ten minutes at the gyms babysitting, he's delirious
I was told by the daycare that I can go in as much as I want before we start, for an hour here and there, to let him adjust.
is this the norm? are they going to roll their eyes as if im disturbing routines (did she just say this to get my business?)
whats an ok thing to do ? how often.
this is for a chain/franchise if that makes a difference.
it will only be for 2 days aweek

Re: ADjusting to daycare (18m olds or so) ADVICE PLEASE !
I put my youngest in, just two days a week, at 12 months. She was REALLY, REALLY attached to me. I think an hour here or there is a bit confusing. I would suck it up and put him in twice a week for maybe 2 hours or so the first day and maybe three or so the second day. Be prepared, he will cry, mainly because he doesn't know what is going on. Then, I think you just have to do it (two full days). In some ways, the two day a week thing is rough (although I went this route as well), because as soon as they get use to day care they are home for two or three more days.
It's a transition, that will be hard on both of you. But, I promise it does pass and gets easier and he will be happy playing with other children two days a week. In addition, his adjustment to pre school will be seamless.
Good luck!!!!

Hi Anna,
Jenna is starting daycare tomorrow. The staff was wonderful and she assimilated herself very well. I brought her in for a few hours on Thursday and on Friday we timed it so she would have lunch with the other children and left right before their nap time.
So far she is doing great, and even went on the potty for the teacher. They also gave me a little chart with stickers to bring home for her so she has consistency with school.
I feel extremely comfortable with my decision
