Adopting a Rescue dog tomorrow - UPDATE
DH and I have been searching for a new addition to our family for several weeks. We finally came across an adoprable rescue dog who is being fostered in NJ. He's a 6 month old black lab mix with beautiful white markings on his chest, 4 paws, and nose. We went through the lengthy application process and were approved on Saturday! We're going to pick him up tomorrow evening and bring him home. I'm so excited and so in love with him.
DH and I can't seem to agree on a name, or come up with anything that we really like. Right now, Charlie is the most likely. Anyone have any name ideas??
UPDATE 1/15: We met "Astro" (who we've re-named Charlie) yesterday afternoon and fell in love! He adores my 4 year old DS and has been such a snuggle bug. He ate and slept well last night and seems very comfortable in his new home. We're so in love and so very lucky to have found him!

Oreo ?
I had a black cat with a white stripe down her chest. I called her Cookie because she reminded me of an Oreo.
I do like Charlie too.

I actually like Charlie. It reminds me of All Dogs Go To Heaven!

Congrats!! He sounds adorable! Our black labs name is Asher. We are getting another lab in May and his name is going to be Brody.
Some other names we considered were bear, copper, cooper, chief, Ralph, Otto, drake, and reed

Yay! Welcome to the Lab Club!!
Can I give you a little bit of advice? Start NILIF training now, while he's acclimating and you will have a MUCH easier time down the road: http://www.humanesociety.org/animals/dogs/tips/training_nothing_in_life_is_free.html
My second Lab has a dominant personality and NILIF keeps her in line (mostly!)
