I had a recent interview with a pediatrician..and she mentioned to me that adults are supposed to update there Tetanus booster every 10 years. There have been recent cases of infants who have not been DTAP vaccinated catching Pertussis ( whooping cough ) from adults who have not been vaccinted. She did not recommend me getting vaccinated while pregant but said that all adults who come in contact with my child before he/she is vaccinated should have there tetanus shot updated within 10 years..
