Advice needed: oot friend's bday party
Got an evite for an oot bday party in late March in Michigan. Not my idea of a great getaway. I'm pretty good friends with this person, however she's invited a lot of oot family who I presume will stay with her so i'll have to get a room, I have no idea how i'll get to her from the airport (not close). Plus i'll hardly get to spend real time with her because of the amount of people who will be there. Cost is obviously also a factor here. And it's going to be cold. Sigh.
I'm not going to go, i've decided. But what I need advice on is my rsvp. Do I lie and say I have something else? Or just say sorry I can't make it? When we actually speak i'm sure it will come up and I don't want to just say well it's not feasable for all the above reasons, because I still feel guilty for not going. I'd love to go in nice weather with DH to visit them with some real one on one time and some nice activities.

Just say you can't make it
When you talk just tell the truth and say you'd love to get together when the weather is nicer, and so you can spend more quality time with her. I'm sure she realizes not everyone can come...
