Advice please, not sure what to do..
I have a BS in Elem Ed. I subbed right out of college, never got a full time Teaching position.
After about a year of that, I needed benefits. So , I took a job at a large insurance company. Didn't love it, but it had benefits and it paid the bills.
After being there a few years, I moved on to sales. First advertising and then Pharmaceuticals.
After DC were born, I became a SAHM. I went back to Pharmaceutical s for a 1 year contract.
I have been home full time for a while, and am going nuts!!!! I neeeeeed to work for my sanity.
What can I do at this point? I think that I can get another Pharmaceutical Sales job, but am leaning away from it, because training for this type of job is anywhere from 2-4 weeks away from your family. You get put up in a hotel and either train there or at the company's hq. I want a job, but I don't want to be away from my 2 and 6 year old 24/7 for that long. I wouldn't have anyone that could care for them.
So, I basically am wondering what types of jobs I can look into that I am qualified for? I am interested in recruiting, but all of the job listings I have seen require 2 plus years experience. I also think that I would love HR, but I don't have that degree or experience.
Any ideas??
ETA: I am almost 38

are you looking for ideas on what you could do with your experience and degree M-F 9-5pm?
Seems to me you can consider any sales job or telemarketing position given your pharmaceutical experience how about a role a Henry Schein? Or another healthcare company on LI?

I got into HR after working in a completely different field with a non-related degree. It was a step back in my career at the time and I had to get in basically as an Admin in a HR department but I have since moved back up... so it is possible!!!
GOOD LUCK!!!
