AF & pain issues, what doc to see next?
I went to my OB recently since my AF comes every 22-23 days, and when it does come, for the first few days I have horrible bloating with painful trapped gas... there is nothing I can do to relieve it, no gas/bloating pills will work. I can't even walk around because it hurts so much... and at times its actually kept me up at night. When I went to my OB he ran blood tests on me and found my hormone levels to be normal. Said that textbook AF is anywhere from 21-30 days so the 22 is not totally out of the norm, and bloating is common.. but I feel like there has to be somewhere else I can go to get more tests done or a second opinion? I did a search on google and saw people complaining of the same symptoms were diagnosed with endometriosis, but I don't know who to see to get that diagnosed or ruled out... any suggestions appreciated!

I had classic endo symptoms for years. I would be doubled over in pain, crying and sweating and shaking for hours on end when AF would come. I also had 8-9 day periods with spotting throughout the month. I had constant lower back pain and exhaustion. My gyno at the time said this was normal. After about 9 months of TTC I had an appointment with a new gyno (my old one moved). She referred me for a sono and blood work and they found a large cyst on my ovary that was consistent with endo. I had a lap done and thats when they found it. Its one of those things that cant be diagnosed with 100% certainty without surgey so most people never even know they have it. If you are concerned, I would definitely speak to your dr though!

Re: AF & pain issues, what doc to see next?
I know EXACTLY what you are going through minus gas pains. I get HORRIBLE cramps. I get my period on time, every month, 7 days, with severe pre pms symptoms, either bloat, or hunger, sore/tender chest, cramping, low back pain, irritable, hormonal, etc, etc.
The first day is HORRIBLE. I seriously am in so much pain, I describe it like child birth (never gave birth) but it feels like it. My lower back pain is so intense, and so are my cramps. 2nd day is minor cramping but heavy bleeding. 3rd day in pain like the first day and 4th day towards the end of the day bad pain again. The rest of the days are good afterward those first 4 days.
I went to one gyno, said I had a cyst and lets see if it waits game because I didnt want to be put on birth control. Cyst grew for about 4 months. He prescribed a higher dose of motrin, I took it and it didn't work. I tried it for 3 cycles.
I went to another dr for 2nd opinion, 2nd dr, said cyst ruptured, and I had fibroids which caused my period pain. He tested for endo, and I was negative *thank God*. He also suggested birth control pills, again I didn't want to be on them. The 1st dr never mentioned the fibroids.
So I just deal with this pain.
