Re: AF related- a possible future product rave???
Okay, I'll chime in on this one....
Never heard of this moon cup thing.... but.... about 10 years ago I did try this new product on the market. I cannot remember what it was called nor if it's even still available nor what the heck made me consider it. It was a very similar concept to this moon cup. It was a purple latexy rubbery bowl like thing that was about 3"- 4" in diameter. It was thin latex but thick enough to hold its shape and had a rolled edge, like the open end of a condom. It was about as concave as a clam shell. You folded it like a taco and inserted it all the way up and then it popped open to sit at your cervix. Kind of like those pop up kids play tents that fold back up into a circle! So yeah, it's there and can stay there for the whole day, you can sleep with it, have sex with it and empty it when you want/need. So I tried it for a day and when do I decide to empty it... while I'm out in a bar in the stall of the ladies room. Now I'm not squeamish with blood at all. However... you're supposed to reach in with a finger and slide it back out like a taco all the while it's keeping its contents contained for you to empty simply in the bowl. Ummmm no it didn't! It popped out and splashed everywhere and I nearly passed out and cracked my head on the terlit at the sight!!!! I threw the freekin' thing away and wadded up some TP for night!!! What a joke! I have no idea what I was thinking. And I have no idea what the heck the product name was!!!
So this moon cup post gave me a horrible flashback!!!

Yeah, I don't think there's any amount of money that would get me to use these......I first heard of these on a board that gives tips on saving money and budgets. I was really surprised that the women said they used the moon cups to save money on disposable pads/tampons.
