Not everyone lives on LI or is looking to buy there (or already owns there). You are aware of that, right? 
Its just funny cause you called me "the nastiest person on LIF" on that thread when I was defending Levittown... BUT when someone is putting down other parts of the country you kinda get defensive too
I haven't been nasty. Just stating my piece.
And I was standing up for the article...and stating the obvious of what the data meant.
Yes, it's a LI website and yes, this is the home board...but I don't think I'm the only OOS, am I? And there are many others contemplating a move OOS...so putting any place down is kinda silly...you don't know who may live there.
Just like the LI vents ended...I think people's choice of state shouldn't be disrespected. Even if it's outside the NY tri-state.
Call me crazy.

I HATE THESE STUPID SURVEY THINGS.
just because a place is or isnt on the list doesnt really matter. they take data and put what they (the people who put the list together) think is "important" and spit out an answer. The people making the list have probably never been to half these places.
and while this is a LI website, not everyone is from LI - we all know it is expensive to live here, but the only thing that matters is that YOU like where you live. no need to defend your life choices. Sasha felt it was the best decision for her and her DH to move to GA. Kristin- you felt that it was the best decision for you to live in Levittown. The only people who have to live with your decisions is YOU.

intereresting... I have heard of almost all of those areas and I'm surprised a place like Henrdon, VA is on the list - at almost $500K for the median house

Many of us (MRSEROD in particular) just spent a ton of time and love on helping out a fellow LIF-er Deb, and last time I checked, she lived in Florida. Nobody is JUST about LI, but a lot of us either live, lived, grew up, or got married here...OF COURSE topics will circle that notion or comparisons

And it's great that you're so "welcoming", in reality not everyone is. Not sure what the big deal is.
This wasn't meant to go in this way, I think that's clear from my very first post; all I was stating is to respect other places...other people (and I'm not one of them) could possibly live there. Just like no one likes LI bashed. All is noted though.
I seriously have my priorities in order. The whole passive aggressive (or not so much) banter that's been happening lately isn't one of them. I will forever speak my mind. Too bad if it's not to everyone's liking. You can't please everyone, after all.

There is passive aggressive and there' plain 'ol pot-stirring being a beeyotch. I think you fall in the latter. Haven't had time to chime in on some of the nasty posts that have been flying around (and there have been A LOT over the past few days), I am straight to the point as well. I just think you try and push the buttons and piss people off (this post is just one of many different ones for you)and I find that annoying.
I will have a fantastic day...here on good old Long Island.

Anyway, stick to the post at hand. This is about "affordable suburbs"...if you have a problem with MY opinion on another topic, then comment on that. One has nothing to do with the other. I don't try to push buttons. If MY opinion does so, that's on the person interpreting what I write. I don't know you, no need to explain myself.
I didn't realize that asking for respect for other places was stirring the pot.
I just keep learning...
