Afraid to change doctors!!! Anyone btdt moms different for #2?
My doctor I used for my DD is in lynbrook just annoying to travel to every time, parking sux and she is just not overly nice, I had a csection, and after that I didn't see her or anyone one else in the practice, people tell that's notbright, and i didn't think so either but I thought it was all my hormones.
Anyone switch to a new dr for the 2nd pregnancy?

I can't answer for myself - just pregnany with #2 and will be sticking with my same dr (I am crazy though - I drive 50 minutes for my dr he is that amazing). But I know many who did switch for #2 and all were happy with it. I don't see a big deal at all. Especially if you weren't happy first time around - I'd definitely switch.

Re: Afraid to change doctors!!! Anyone btdt moms different for #2?
I switched doctor's for this baby. Dr #1 is in Manhattan and delievered at Lenox Hill and while I could still see her it was easier to find someone out on LI who delivered in LI (I'll deliver at NSUH).
IF Dr. #1 was amazing I would not have switched but I was not overly impressed with my labor and delivery experience and absolutely HATED my experience at Lenox Hill. It was/is the right decision for me.

Are you saying that you never had a post partum/post op visit?? If that's the case, then something slipped through the cracks. If I wasn't comfortable with my dr, I would change. I've been to 2 other practices before I started with this practice now and I love everyone in the office.

Re: Afraid to change doctors!!! Anyone btdt moms different for #2?
yes, while in the hospital only though, i did go back at 6weeks, but in the hospital it was only the physician there, no one from my OBGYN practice, i didnt like that, and i had a horrible experience as well, DD was in the NICU for 3 days, recovering from a csection and rooming with a woman who had her baby in withher all the time... it was brutal.... and then my doctor didnt come to see me.... it was not a good one... so i'm gonna go ahead and i think make a new appointment with a new doctor..

Re: Afraid to change doctors!!! Anyone btdt moms different for #2?
I changed doctors after my first. BEST DECISION I EVER MADE!!! I was not pleased with my doctors office doctors kept leaving, my appts were always being cancelled. After i delievered i went for one appt with them just to make sure my insides were okay and after that i asked for my records and left. I am now seeing a new Dr and loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee him and the practice. Go with your gut if you feel like you should change drs CHANGE.

Same for me as well. I was living in NYC for DD #1 so my doctor is there. Since I am now on LI for DD #2, I switched doctors to one in Huntington. So far, so good.

Re: Afraid to change doctors!!! Anyone btdt moms different for #2?
I did! During my last pregnancy, I was seeing a practice with 3 doctors. Throughout the pregnancy. I only ended up meeting 2 of them, one whom I loved and one that I was fine with, but nothing spectacular. So of course, when it came time to deliver, I ended up with the one I never met and he was AWFUL! In the end, my birth experience was great, and my son and I both came through it well and healthy. But I wanted to never see that doctor again. I didn't want to chance anything, so I changed practices this time and I couldn't be happier! It's also a 3 doctor practice and I've made sure to see all 3 already and I love them all! I'm excited for what the birth experience will be like this time. If you are not comfortable, absolutely 100% you should switch!!

I switched, but only because I moved from Brooklyn out to Suffolk.
I actually went to one other practice before going to the one I currently use. I am very happy with the one I'm with now. I went to them on a recommendation.

Re: Afraid to change doctors!!! Anyone btdt moms different for #2?
I switched for my 3rd pregnancy (which ended in a m/c) and then had my son with a different practice from my older DDs. My only issue is that I wish I switched sooner!!
If something doesn't sit right with you, switch! The doctors in my first practice had no bedside manner and beside that mishandled a potentially serious situation...why I stayed on for #2 is beyond me. Once I had my miscarriage I knew I was in good hands. My last pregnancy was such a joy...I miss seeing my doctor all the time!!
