they do it because they love the business
they do it to make the fans happy
that's fine- and I admire it- they are following a dream - and I get that- I support my DH is following his UFC dream- even though I worry about him getting hurt
but they deserve to be treated fair- and get the proper medical treatment that people the NBA, NFL and MLB get
they are making tons of money for the WWE- and they should at least get the medical care they need- that is step 1

NBA, NFL, etc, they all have team owners who obviously want to make sure that their investments (the players) get the best treatment.
Majority owner of WWE and Chairman of the Board, Vince McMahon, is obviously only interested in his own bottom line. Yeah, these guys make tons of money for him, but he would just as soon replace any one of them with the next guy who's gonna make him a ton of money. He's a shrewd businessman. I doubt if he feels any moral obligation to 'his property'.

case in point - when owen hart fell from the cieling, the show went on
when benoit died, vince came on and promoted the fact that they "cancelled the show"
they didn't cancel it - they made it a three hour benoit tribute so they wouldn't lose ratings

Re: After the Chris Benoit family tragedy: Congress Wants Hearings For Steroids In Wrestling
First I'm not buying the rage theory. As already posted, this was a slow and deliberate act. And, if what I read was correct, he left that night claiming to have a family emergency. He knew what he was doing and planned it out. A situation involving rage isn't so well thought out.
Second, his wife had an order of protection against him in the past. Why is it so hard to believe that he quite possibly was an abusive spouse and ultimately killed his wife and went a step further to end both he and his sons lives? Is it because he was a well known wrestler? Society seems to have this notion that someone like him can't possibly be abusive and something must have caused the behavior. Same story with an unkown person and it's looked at the perpetrator being a seriously abusive and twisted invidual.
Third, I'm not so sure Congress should be involved with this. I'll have to read more in order to comment.
Sorry to go on for so long
