after you got the new carpet (especially if you got it from empire)
Did it shed ? really bad or little bit? For how long?
We got ours about a month ago, it's shedding a lot, mostly when I vacuum , it almost broke the vacuum 2x already bc the fiber gets stuck inside it and I have to stop every few minutes and clean it out . I called empire and they said it'll shed like this for 120 days This carpet was not cheap and I'm really annoyed that I have to deal with this...
What was /is your experience?

What kind of carpet did you get from them, we got a berber from them about 3 months ago and it has been fine

Honestly I have no idea , I don't remember, I have to find the receipt for it and see.

Same thing here...Berber and no shedding..

Ours still sheds 1 year later...not as much as the first month though-only every once and a while.

We got an plush carpet from them and I'd say the first month or so it shed. That was a year ago. It sheds no more

We got the Mohawk SmartStrand carpet, and even from day one, there was absolutely no shedding. A year later, and still absolutely no shedding.

A berber wouldn't really shed anyway..
but a regular carpet always sheds at least for the first few weeks and first few vacuumings.
its a pain, but i don't think its indicative of any lesser quality

we recently had the same carpet installed in our bedroom....no shedding.....

we got our carpet 6 weeks ago from Empire - we got the frieze style. it's still shedding, but not badly. the vacuum (we have a dyson) takes care of it.

certain carpeting will do this, you don't need to worry. it has nothing to do with empire at all, its just the type of carpeting you purchased. berber will not do this all all since it is looped. plush type is looped then cut across the top making the loop disappear leaving softer fibers. Since it is cut, it tends to shed. The thicker the carpeting the more shedding you will have. Don't worry its normal
