Best place for new carpet?
We need new carpet in our living room and hallway. I would like to do financing and wondered what is the best place around (I am in Suffolk). Thanks :)

Re: Best place for new carpet?
The Home Depot in Patchogue has done good work in my house and they have a great selection. I've used Milburn(by Atias) and they were good as well, But you can't beat HD's deals!

Would you be able to give me a round about price of what they charge? Thanks :)

We financed through Empire. We had one year no interest to pay it off.

Re: Best place for new carpet?
i used home depot and was pleasantly surprised. empire was ridiculously overpriced--i literally laughed at the guy when he showed us his "sale" samples.

Re: Best place for new carpet?
Depends on the quality of carpet and the price per sq ft. They are reasonable though. I would go down to HD and get a quote.

We called Empire carpet, we are scheduled for installation next week. The salesman was really nice and brought sample to us.

Re: Best place for new carpet?
that price may be right on because the hallway you have to order extra because you have to cut but I FM you

Re: Best place for new carpet?
We used Home Depot and had 3 bedrooms, the hallway and staircase carpeted. I'm not sure about the square footage, but carpet and installation came out to $2000. If you open up a Home Depot credit card you dont have to pay for a year.
One great piece of advice I got from a friend was this - you dont necessarily have to buy the thickest carpet, but buy the thickest padding. We chose Grammercy Park carpet in a beige color - it was a good thickness and priced at less than $2 a square foot. We got the deluxe padding. Everyone mentions how plush and "cushiony" the carpet is.

Thanks so much. We just got a thing in the mail today from HD with 10% off AND 1 year no interest financing with your HD card, which we do have already. I think we are going to go look tomorrow even though it does not start until the 26th.

We used HD and were very happy with them. I don't remember what we paid but they had better prices than Empire and Lowes.
