Against all Odds - my story of hope (long)!!!!
I can’t believe that I am writing this but after 2 years of struggles, many sleepless nights, being told to either adopt or use donor sperm we are PREGNANT!!!!!
I am finally ready to come out…I am almost 13 weeks pregnant and could not be happier….
For those that know my case, we are faced with the most severe Male Factor you can have….DH was diagnosed with Primary Testicular Failure at age 32 (high FSH and low testosterone)..it was a complete shock to us and we were devastated. How can this be?? A healthy male from a family of 55 first cousins infertile?? Well, it happened to us….After going to 2 very known clinics in NYC, NYU and RMA of NY (clinics that have no clue about MF) we were told that DH cannot have biological children and for us to consider either adoption or a sperm donor….after hearing that we both were numbed and devastated….I must admit, DH even had suicidal thoughts because he could not live with the idea of not being a father….it was the worst time of our lives….
I didn’t want to give up so I researched MF and found Cornell (Dr Goldstein and Dr Schlegel)…two best sperm doctors in the world….after our first initial visit we got a glimpse of hope…they said “ if we have one sperm and one egg, we will make you a baby”….I cried right there in there….that sentenced meant more to me than anything else in the world…that of course was just the beginning……so after 1.5 years of testing, endless blood tests, ultrasounds, MRIs, 3 serious testicular surgeries, DH being on Clomid for 9months, one early miscarriage/chemical pregnancy in September, we got PREGNANT!!!! I originally conceived twins but lost one at 7 weeks (it is called vanishing twin syndrome)…we were sad for a while but we are thrilled knowing that we have one healthy baby on the way due December 6th….my ultra screen was yesterday and everything is looking great!!!! We are totally blessed and this baby is a total miracle!!!
After I deliver the baby I am on a wait list at Cornell to become an egg donor…I want to give something (that I have plenty of) to those in need….it really means a lot to me to help…….
I hope that my story gives hope to all those faced with infertility and struggles to have a baby!!! It will happen!!!!!! Keep the faith!!!

You don't know how happy I am for you & your DH!!!  If two people deserve this the most, you guys do!!!

Anita, life is full of miracles and your baby is one of them. I couldnt be more thrilled for you. I am jumping out of my skin with excitement. I wish you the happiest and healthiest of pregnancies.
