Age for play kitchen?
DD just turned one and received a large play kitchen from very close friends of ours. It's a step two and says for ages 2 and up. Anyone have a one year old using a kitchen? Should I wait until she is walking unassited and closer to 2?

The only thing I've heard is that if a younger child pulls up on the ktichen it can tip over on them (as they are pretty light).

My dd has been playing with hers since she was able to stand at 8 months. It is one of her favorite things to play with now at 1 year old.

My DD has had hers since she was 13 months old (last Christmas). It's definitely something she grew into, but she played with it when she was that little too.

DD2 has been playing with ours (from DD1) since before a year old. We never let her pull up on it. She'd probably love the shopping cart too from 1 year old on.

we bought DD one for her first birthday. she played with it right away. she liked to open the doors and play with the food and pull up on it. Now at 18 months she pretends cooks.

Re: Age for play kitchen?
DS1 got one for his 1st bday and was using it right away. The twins have been playing with it since they were about a year too. We have the Step2 Diner though and there are 2 seats/booth (they love to sit in them) so maybe that is why they had an interest in it so young.
