Re: Age gap in kids
We havent had much of an issue with my girls..
They are 14, 9 & 9...the baby is 8 months...
My DHs daughters are 10 & 5..they are more of a jealous nature in general than my daughters are and get jealous if DH is paying attention to anyone other than them as it is...BUT in general they arent really jealous of the baby at all...They are OK when he has to take care of him or his needs but they dont like when he hugs him or is just holding him..KWIM??
Honestly DH just ignores it. He is confident that he is giving everyone equal time etc...and he takes advantage of Cadens naps and things to do stuff with the older kids.

Re: Age gap in kids
My boys are 4 and a half years apart and so far so good. My oldest guys who is about to turn 6 gets mad if the baby (17months) knocks down his building or takes something the bigger one is playing with. Other than that though, we haven't had any other issues.

Re: Age gap in kids
My kids are five years apart. For the first few year, my oldest was great with her sister but then again she had her own life and a baby could only minimally participate in it.
Since my youngest turned three, I have to be honest sibling rivalry is alive and well in my house. Since my youngest has gotten involved in activities and I've had to balance their time, my oldest isn't always happy and my youngest thinks she should be able to do all the things the older one can. I tell eevryone, they fight like they are a year apart. However, on the plus side, both of my kids really had my full attention. With my youngest I was able to do all the gymboree and mommy and me activities because my oldest was in school all day.

Re: Age gap in kids
My kids are 8 years apart and honestly there has never been a real jealousy issue. Although, one night DS did wake up and said he had a nightmare that his sister was taking over this life
