Air Conditioning units

If you have Air Conditioning Units - instead of Central Air - what temps do you keep them on?

Re: Air Conditioning units

We have an energy saver and only use it when we're home. We set it at 74 on extremely hot and humid days. On average summer days, we turn it to 76. It shuts itself off when it reaches temperature. And turns back on automatically when it gets warm again.

Re: Air Conditioning units

We have 3 units
2 downstairs and 1 upstairs.

We keep one downstairs usually 73
this one is in a back room

Now we have a bigger unit in the living room - we keep that at 72 - but alot of times we might put it a little lower at night.

We have one upstairs we keep at 71 at night - cause we like it comfortable and we need to get some cold air in my daughters room.

Ours are on Energy Saver - so they only come on when the temps hit lower than that.

Re: Air Conditioning units

DH and I argue over this. He wants it at 75 and I like it more around 78 (I am always cold) so we compromise at 77. We are in the upstairs apartment of a house so it easily gets over 90 in the summertime.

Re: Air Conditioning units

We have an in-room A.C. in our bedroom and we turn it on about an hour before we go to bed. It's set at 70.

That's the only air conditioner in the house.

Re: Air Conditioning units

During the day we keep both on energy saver at 70. At bedtime it's off energy save and kept between 60-64 for the one in our bedroom, the cat's room stays on energy saver 70.
