Airline that flies direct to Myrtle Beach...
Anyone know of an airline that flies direct from NY to Myrtle Beach, OTHER than Spirit Airlines?

Delta flies directly out of LGA and Continental and Myrtle Beach Jet Express fly directly out of Newark. You can get direct flights on US Airways into Florence, SC which isn't too far away.
We have a condo there and we go a couple of times a year. I usually fly Spirit though - they have the most flights and I haven't had any problems with them flying to/from Myrtle (as people have seemed to have going to other destinations). I also joined their $9 fare club for a $9 trial and $40/year after that and the fares are substantially lower than the other airlines that way.

We alwys have used Spirit but they are getting ridiculous with their fees for everything from checking a bag to booking a seat online. Also, the flight we usually take is always late! Dh was in the airport Wed. night from 5-midnight waiting for his flight!
Thank you for the info! My MIL lives there and we also go a few times a year!

We are going to Myrtle Beach in august and are trying to find flights as well. So far Spirit is the cheapest(and still not that cheap!). Delta had nonstops but were about $300 more.

Myrtle Beach Direct
These are direct flights to Myrtle Beach but it only flies out of/to Newark, not in NY.

YES. That flight comes out of Detroit and is NEVER on time! DH had a flight out this past Wed. night, and took off after midnight. My MIL was here visiting on November, she left, same thing. When I went in Feb.,w/ my niece, we were delayed til after 8. Last year when I went I was delayed an hour only, but then the plane had a flat. DH & I went together once last year and delayed 2 hours. My MIL's BF goes back and forth and he always is delayed. You should go to the Spirit site and track that flight daily and see how it looks.

I usually take the early flight and have no issues.
To find a cheaper fare, I'd look into the $9 fare club. For $9 for a 3 month trial, you can get a great discount on flights to Myrtle - I priced a trip without membership at $250 and ended up paying $86 (that's roundtrip).
If you do join though - it automatically renews itself after 3 months at the rate of $40/year (so if you aren't going to use it often - just make sure you cancel it).
DH says more airlines don't fly to Myrtle Beach because the airport charges high fees.

So my hubby was due to come home today on the 6pm flight and it is now 10:18 and he is still sitting on the runway on Myrtle Beach....
