The ped recently put our daugher on soy for her very bad gas (5 weeks)..the soy has not really helped and now she has become nasal and the ped said it could be from the soy so she said to try the alimentum...when to you typically see a change..also it is pretty expensive and i don't think our insurance will cover it..where is the best place to buy it...thanks for any feed back!

We use Nutramigen- same thign but the Enfamil kind. We saw results with the very first bottle- she was no longer wheezing or arching her back.
Our insurance ( Vytra/HIP) company would have covered it, but we have a prescription plan from another company. I've read to keep checking and checking b/c one person will tell you no, and another will tell you if you have a note from your Dr, etc. What a racket.
Its so expensive. Ask your pedi for samples everytime you go.My friends dr gave them 2 months worth.
The best price I've seen is at Babies Rus. The worst is CVS ( $6 more!) and Walgreens type places. I also signed up my mother, SIL , MIL, etc for formula checks b/c they stop coming around 5 months or so.Only a few months til we can transition her to milk, and our wallet can't wait.

Best place to buy is Babies R Us. It's the cheapest and you can buy it by the case. Also, sign up for the Similac website and they send you $5 off coupons.
