My god I'm petrified of that stomach virus (I'm sipping on grape juice as I sit here lol). My dd will inevitably contract it from school though and then it's all over... we have been avoiding the library bc she always gets sick from there and it's just not worth it. Me and her had that stomach bug right before Easter this past year so it looks like it prob doesn't let up much.
The grape juice did absolutely nothing for us. I was giving it to her like mad because her cousins had the bug. The only thing it did was make for purple vomit when she got the virus and puked it all up. I drank it too and got the bug. I think that grape juice myth is horseshit to be honest and anyone who avoided the bug by taking it was just pure luck. They talk about it changing the environment of your stomach but your stomach is already FULL of acid on a daily basis and the bug survives it.
I don't believe in that grape juice thing either. It will not prevent you from getting sick. And this is the first year that I'm even hearing about it. How come doctors have never mentioned drinking it before????
Oh I've always known this, it's great for even colds also. It's something my mom told me years ago. Doctor's will also tell you that Zinc, Vitamin C, etc. don't work.......they do.
We buy real grape juice though, not Welch's crap. I DID buy Welch's for an event we are going to because it came in small bottles. But otherwise I get organic, Santa Cruz brand, without a bunch of added ingredients.
Fresh purple grapes are always great for warding off illnesses also. I usually pack them in my DD's lunch. Antioxidants in grapes are great!

The Welch's grape juice I had was 100% juice- nothing added. Antioxidents and Vitamin C are great- but they don't ward off a stomach bug any better than any other immune boosting supplement. And we are proof of that.

Well, most people probably aren't buying any other immune boosting supplements. So grape juice or even better, real grapes, are a good preventative measure. Just like Elderberry syrup is a good preventative for certain things. Will it work for everyone? Of course not.
