All this talk about preschool etc- question about 2 year old- please come in
My son just turned 2 on feb 11.
My parents watch him during the week. I been going back and forth about sending him to day care or school? a few hrs a day just so he can interact more with kids.
My mom takes him to the Library on Wednesday for Storytime but thats about it.
Does anyone have any recommendations on places in Wantagh/Bellmore area that I can check in to?

Perhaps you can check to see if your town has any parent/tot programs? My parents bring ds to one in our town (Babylon) & he loves it. We pay $75 for I believe a 10 week session. Each class is 90 min long & includes open play, circle/music time, craft & a snack. We've found that he's really benefited from the structure & regularity of the program. My Mom LOVES taking ds to this & he loves it too...he's 2 1/2 & talks about his little friends all week long! If your town has something like that I'd definitely recommend giving it a try!

We just signed DS up for a 2's club. It's a drop-off, 1.5 hours 2 days a week- for the school year. It looks so cute, I think he's really going to enjoy it.
Check out private schools in your area- our 2's club is with a local private school pre-school program. This school teaches them reading and writing by 4 years old- crazy!

I used to teach at Our Redeemer in Seaford. They have a program for 2.5 year olds. It is 2x/week for 2.5 hours I believe. I'm signing the twins up, but they cant start until January.
Grace in Massapequa has a 2's club also. That is 2x/week for 1.5 hours.

DS does the slow separation program at Kiddie Junction in Levittown. Ours is a Saturday program (because we work), 9:30am-11:30pm. They start separating after 4 classes. It's mostly younger 2s, they had to have their birthday by 12/1.

My son's PreK - which I love - has a 2 yr old program. 1 or 2 half days a week. United Methodist of Bellmore (behind Applebees). The teacher is wonderful - we had her for mommy and me. We never did the 2 yr old program (wasn't an option when my sons where 2 - relatively new program).
