All you gardening girls out there... Need suggestions!
I have lots of space in front and on the side of my condo where I can plant some flowers... Never did any type of gardening work before... Plan on starting the adventure next month... Right now its ALL green... lots of ground cover actually... Any ideas on what type of colorful flowers/bushes to plant?
I'd like plants that are low maintenance and come up every year since I have no idea what Im doing Also, as of right now, I am getting the sun in the morning, but was told we dont get much in the summer

I would recommend purchasing Hydrangea's. We have three of them and depending on the acid in the soil, they change colors each year. The only work they have is to cut back the stems in the fall, so in the spring, new buds can grow.

I like hydrangea too, azaleas are pretty as well. I also like Montauk Daisies. The only problem with perennials is once they bloom that is it, they are done. You should plant some annuals too. I like geraniums and zennias for annuals. They are pretty and inexpensive.

The Better Homes & Gardens web site has garden plans that you can print out and bring to the nursery, then just plant according to the plan.

You have that backwards. Perennials come back year after year. Annuals are only good that year.
Bulbs are a good way to go also. Tulips, lillies, daffodils are all out now.
If you are near Hicks, I suggest going there. There are gorgeous plants you can look at and a great staff of helpful people. I would do my homework there, but buy elsewhere since they are pretty pricey. If you are near Cheap Sams, they have a great selection at a great price. Never had help there as it is a drive thru kind of area.

I think she means that they don't keep blooming throughout the summer.
