Allergic to oatmeal?
Have your dd/ds's ever had an allergic reaction to oatmeal?
I gave my 4 month old DS oatmeal on Saturday. It was the first time. He had about 3 baby spoonfuls. 4 hours later he had a rash on his legs and stomach. No one in our family has any allergies, so this is new to us. I never expected an allergic reaction to oatmeal.
If your child was allergic to the oatmeal, did they grow out of it or have allergic reactions to many other foods?
I am afraid to feed him anything going forward.

Re: Allergic to oatmeal?
My 2nd DD had a rash reaction to oatmeal when we first gave it to her, she also cried in pain alot and fussed during the day/night more than usual. 1st time she had it was 6 months old.
My PED said to stop for now, and not give it at all, or try again. We just tried again on sat=she's 8 months old, and so far nothing.
My DD is on neocate for a protein allergy since 5 weeks old.
Have you used anything else new? Detergent? Lotion? Soap? ANy other new food? Hot in his room?

Re: Allergic to oatmeal?
Nothing new aside from the oatmeal.
I just looked at it again and his stomach just looks like a little red rash but his legs are raised, dry and a little bumpy. Looks a little like eczema. I never even would have thought about that.
I know I just need to try rice or barley but I am a little afraid and I am thinking about holding off on food for a month or two now.
Thanks everyone.
