Alterations for bridesmaids dress
I'm in my brother's wedding in July, and we ordered the bridesmaids dresses from a place near my FSIL's house in NJ. I am going down to visit my brother and fsil this weekend, and was planning on getting fitted for the dress, and then realized I am not sure when both the two of them, and DH and I would be able to match our schedules again so that I could plan a visit and go back and pick up the dress. Now the decision - the alterations are included in the price of the dress at the store where we ordered them. I'd most likely have to go down there just for the dress - so, that's gas ($$$) and tolls...ugh, and hours of time just for that without the benefit of seeing anyone.
Should I get the alterations done there, or just pick up the dress and have the alterations done up here? I haven't had a dress altered in a while, and have no concept of the cost. What do you think I could expect to pay? And does anyone have a recommendation for a seamstress? Sorry for the gazillion questions!

it was $125 to alter a bridesmaid dress a year ago.

It's hard to tell you how much the alterations will be because it really depends how much work needs to be done to the dress. I paid $35 for a BM dress recently that need to be taken in in the top and hemmed.
FM if you'd like my seamstress info...she's fabulous!

I was going to say this also.. I don't know how much shipping would be for something like that.. but I would guess it will be cheaper than getting the alterations done here would be
