DS was just put on Singulair too last week. It has helped immensely with his allergies. He was a MESS last week, his eyes were so bad from they he actually woke up Sunday and they were literally swollen shut! We tried benadryl adn Zyrtec first at rec of pedi but they did absolutely nothing. He is on day 3 of the Singulair and hes a new kid and no side effects from it, thus far.

Aly was put on it more for asthma....shes been showing signs whenever she does too much activity. Dr is thinking its exercised induced but could be triggered from seasonal allergies as well..

I am hoping its just seasonal.

we are on Pulmiort and DuoNeb.

My dad is pushing me to ask for singular, he worries about becoming immune to pulmicort, would rather I switch off every 6 mos between the two.

one thing I know when starting it, I give Josh a free hour after taking it. You can tell something's not right with him. Antsy, moody, starving...I give him the hour, then after that he has to go back to trying to be a good boy.

DD was dx with cough variant asthma. She doesn't wheeze - she gets a horrible cough. It's triggered by allergies - food and enviornmental.

She takes Singulair. And Albuteral when the coughing gets really bad - Every 4-6 hours. We tried Pulmicort. It did nothing for her, but I think that has more to do with the type of asthma she has.
