am i a weirdo because....

i have no intention of testing until AF is late?

I see so many girls testing at like 8 or 9 days and I'm wondering if I'm the only one who waits until AF is late? is it b/c it's only our 2nd month trying? Wondering if i will start testing sooner as it takes longer?

just wondering if i'm the only one that does this.

I'm due this weekend and I want to test now!!! I cannot wait. But I think I'm going to wait to see if AF is late first. It's my first month trying so I'm new to all this!

i dont test until 11DPO, and thats only cause i have a 10 day LP. so 11DPO means I'm 1 day late for AF(although I am progesterone which is a whole different complication to the DPO game ). i will never test sooner than that. in my personal opinion i think its silly and setting yourself up for unnecessary disappointment. its pointless because knowing you are pregnant one day earlier means nothing in the long run, but thinking you arent and being miserable for 2 or 3 days until you find out that you really are, that's just silly and not worth it.

In the beginning I never used to test early. I would just wait for AF to show or not. After having a CP in February, I test early every month.

I'm in reverse...I tested early in the beginning, and then as it got further into TTCing I wouldn't test until I was late for AF because I realized I was causing myself so much heartache

it doesn't mean you are weird, i think it just means you are more patient. i personally don't have any patience so i will be in the "constant poas group" when we ttc.

Typically I wait it out, although I have had a few "weak" moments here and there.

I dont test until Im late. I am not letting myself get crazy while TTC. I dont do anything out of my normal routine.

I am making a promise to myself that I will not test early. It will be tough but I intend on waiting it out.

Nope. Except our first month TTC, I never bought a test. It was totally a psychological thing for me, but seeing AF was somehow less awful than seeing a BFN. I temped, so I had an idea whether or not she was coming anyway.

No.. people cope with stress in different ways. Some find the unknown more stressful and test early, others find that waiting it out is more comforting. As long as you aren't driving yourself nuts, I say do whatever works for you.

If you're a weirdo, than so am I. I am not as strong as some of the women on here. My fear is that if get a BFP and then it turns out to be a chemical or M/C I would not handle it well at all. So you are not alone and like the PP mentioned, I would rather just think it is AF than a M/C or chemical.

i've been trying for 18 months and i still don't test unless i'm late.
Honestly, i think that the longer you are trying, the less tendency you have to test because the hurt of BFN's becomes too much to take, so you just wait until AF comes along.

some people can wait, some people can't - everyone is different

Definitely not a weirdo, I am with you! I would rather just get AF than have to see a BFN. And I figure, with all these OPK's I'm buying, I can at least save some $ in the HPT dept. Testing early and getting a BFN will do absolutely nothing for me. But I have a very regular cycle, so as soon as I am a minute late, you better believe I'll be POAS!!!!

with my last pregnancy, day AF was due test came out negative. 6 days late it came out positive. i was having pain in my side so i had an ultrasound and they saw nothing, and said i might not even be preggo sooo went to get bloodwork done and they said i was preggo because my HCG levels were 722, which is very low, so i was very early.

if i get preggo again, i wont do everything so early again, because i dont need a scare again where they look at my uterus and see nothing lol.
basically, i was so early, the baby was sooo small they saw nothing. and this was with an internal ultrasound

I thought the same thing. Our first month TTC I waited to see if AF came or not...then my sister gave me a bunch of pregnancy test strips. This month (our second) I can't seem to stop POAS

i dont test until AF is late...and not even a day late..like a week late! so therfore i havent tested at all for a while!
