Am I Crazy to bring my 2.5 year old outside now?

It's really coming down hard in NJ. He's napping now but I know he LOVES going out in the snow. We'll be back to work tomorrow so we won't be able to enjoy it with him.

If I bundle him up in all the gear do you think it's bad to bring him out for a little while when he wakes up so we can all play and get some shoveling done?

As long as he is warm, safe and having fun, I don't think it is crazy at all.

Dh wants to take Kaydyn out when she gets up from her nap. At least for 10 mins so she can play in the snow.

I was thinking the same thing. We were out earlier when it stopped for a while and so were all the kids on our street. They helped her build a snowman. If it weren't for them I wouldn't have gotten any shoveling done because she's having a tough time walking in the snow.

Right now it's snowing up down and sideways here so when she wakes up if it's still like this we'll stay in but if it lightens up we'll go back out.

The older kids are all still outside and seem unstoppable.

Caden's been out already....

There was no holding him back....

I always feel like it's easier to just take them out in it....(Otherwise he's asking me every 10 mins)

We just took older DS out (he'll be 2 next mo)...took 20 minutes to bundle him up, we were outside for 5 minutes, and then 15 minutes to unbundle him.

Was worth it, though. He LoVES the snow and it burned some energy!

I wanted to bundle DS (he's 5 months)up in his snowsuit just to take him out to see it for a couple of minutes and take some pics too, but he's been sick for a couple of weeks so I'm guessing it wouldn't be a good idea.Chat Icon

We went out at like 11am...DD was loving it, we were out for almost an hour. But the wind was BRUTAL then, and it's even worse now...we're def not going back out today.

ETA: She was bundled up and everything was warm & covered but her poor little cheeks, they got soooo red!

Re: Am I Crazy to bring my 2.5 year old outside now?

so we went out for about an hour and a half....it actually wasn't so bad. It seemed at the time to be slowing down a little although now it seems to have picked up again.

Glad we went!
