am i in denial about 9/11
i haven't been on today, so forgive me if anyone feels like the subject has been "over-discussed" today.
first of all, to everyone 
it's been six years, and i still can't watch/listen to ANYTHING having to do with that day. i don't watch any re-enactments, movies, or tributes. i can't.
that day did not affect any of my loved ones directly, but i was going to be there that day to take a relative site-seeing, but because she over-slept, we we going to go later in the day.
am i in denial, am i alone?
again, my heart-felt prayers to you all on this day.

I don't think you're in denial.
I was also supposed to be there that day - 1 block away from the WTC at my company's NYC office.
I was assisting with a customer facing seminar and it got cancelled on the Friday before due to lack of registration.

Just b/c you chose to not watch anything on TV about the events of 9/11 doesn't mean you're in denial.
Everyone deals with things differently and this is how you need to deal with it. I think it's perfectly fine.
I think it's more important to remember the events and not forget the ultimate sacrifice made by so many that day.
I'd also say you were incredibly lucky and I would suspect someone was definitely watching over you that day.

That Day and the days after I WAS GLUED to the tv. I couldn't stop watching. Now I can watch 5 seconds of it.

Same for me. The only thing I watched today was the Oprah show and I was only listening, not watching. It was quite enough for me.

You're certainly not in denial about it, you're just dealing with it in your own way. A lot of people have trouble watching the tributes, it brings back a lot of hurtful memories. The important thing tho is that we never forget the sacrifices that were made and the innocent lives that were lost.
Thank God someone was watching over you that day!!

Me too. I still remember DH yelling at me to stop watching because I was so upset.

we were in the bahamas at the time. We stayed in our room, watched TV, drank and cried.

Same here..
I commuted through there everyday on the PATH except for that day. On that day, I was on my way to Philly to a meeting and stared in horror from Route 3, (by Giant's Stadium) as the first building burned and the 2nd building was struck. It's forever burned into my mind.
