Am i jumping the gun
Ok so last night DH and i go out with friends.. first time since we seen any of our friends since we found out i was pregnant. Well i tore up my closet looking for something that fit let alone that was comfortable. i ended up having to go pants unbuttoned. So i was thinking of going to store to buy some maternity clothes. NOTHING CRAZY just one or 2 outfits and maybe a new bra since mine seems to be getting tighter. im only 7w2d i know it seems early but i dont know what to do? How early did you guys start shopping.

Re: Am i jumping the gun
U might wanna start out by getting some pants that have elastic waists in larger sizes.
I bought maternity pants earlier than I should have, and I have to say.... I got annoyed a lot b/c there wasn't anything per say to hold them up tummy wise, and they were CONSTANTLY falling down.
If I had it to do it all over again with my current knowledge, I def would have gotten pants with stretchy waists.

Re: Am i jumping the gun
i would wait on the maternity pants.
right now you are probably just bloated and that will go away. you'll know once you start to have a belly.
maybe buy a few pairs of pants in a bigger size.

Re: Am i jumping the gun
I absolutely hated wearing a bella band, but I did buy clothes with elastic and a size larger. That "in between" stage is the worst! I just felt bloated and gross-nothing felt right on me! I finally gave in and went to buy maternity clothes at about 12-13 weeks. Which is early, but at least I was comfy!

I will say this... my bloat never went away, so i'm glad that i bought maternity pants. And i started early since none of my work pants fit. It was probably around week 8 or 9.

Re: Am i jumping the gun
I was uncomfortable immediately too so I got cheapie pants from Target (I think I got basic black pants with a little elastic in the back for like $4 on the clearance rack!) to hold me over.

Re: Am i jumping the gun
i am in LOVE with my new maternity pants- i am 14 weeks and just started wearing them last week and I am SO glad I switched- the place where my regular pants were hitting me on my belly was just really annoying... They have some maternity pants that have a "regular waist" I would recommend starting with those!

Re: Am i jumping the gun
I went to Old Navy, and bought some maternity pants with the roll over panel in my first trimester They were really comfortable, reasonably priced and especially helpful when I got that post meal bloated feeling.
I am now in week 23 and still using the pants.

Re: Am i jumping the gun
I was extremely bloated and bought pants in a bigger size around 8 weeks.
They looked awful on me. They were saggy in the legs and butt area but fitted around the waist.
The bella band worked for a week or so but I found it uncomfortable.
I started wearing maternity pants around week 15 and they were huge on me.
Now at 17 w 5 days they fit better.
The in-between stage suckss.

i bought one pair of jeans and one pair of pants at that time. at 30 weeks, i am still wearing the jeans, just under my belly. the pants no longer fit.

Re: Am i jumping the gun
I wore my pre-preg clothes with a bella band until I couldn't even get the zippers up... then went to maternity.
My experience trying on larger sizes was that they were big in all the wrong places and not as much where I needed it. You'll have to spend some time looking around. Old Navy is good b/c they have regular clothes (so you can try the larger size thing) and maternity as well - prices are also reasonable for those first maternity outfits.

Re: Am i jumping the gun
At 8 weeks, I bought maternity jeans and a bella band. I bought the maternity jeans a size bigger and but the bella band around those to keep them up comfortably. I personally didn't like the bella band with my pre maternity jeans! I'm still wearing the same jeans at 23 weeks(minus the bella band!) It worked for me!!!

Re: Am i jumping the gun
TARGET CLEARANCE
I went pants hunting in target today.... looking for stuff for my remaining first trimester leading into the 2nd trimester.
I found these non-maternity stretchy jeans (mossimo premium denim in dark indigo and black) on clearance. they're FAB. they're loose in the waist and have a very low rise... so low it may stay below the bump until almost the third trimester! (I got them one size larger than my non-preggo size....)
best part? they're also on clearance under $20/pair I got both indigo and black
oh I that store!!!!
