am i the only one who DID NOT buy dd a lot for xmas?

my dd is 15months and really has no clue about christmas obviously. i didnt buy her much of anyting.She is goign to get soo much from my family and dh family. i have few things under te tree that my mom bought for her.

I started a traditon every year to write her a letter onner birthday dn christmas so when sh is older she will have that to look at. Obviously next year when she is 2 and i have 7 month boy as well i plan to spoil her rotten.

Am i wrong?
Iask bc soo many peopel ask me so what did you get your dd? i feel weird saying not much.

DD will be 2 in Feb and DH & I only bought her 2 presents. MIL on the otherhand went overboard which is probably why we didn't buy much.

To answer your question if we had a choice we would've bought a couple more things if MIL didn't buy as much as she did.

Honestly, I don't feel like I got Marron much either. She will be 20mos for Christmas, and I got her some books & puzzles, a table and chairs set, a few bath toys, and a school bus play thing (it stands up and has a bunch of learning activities). That's about it -- besides a new sippy cup and a few do-dads for her stocking.

DS got two small presents (totalling a whopping $22) plus his stocking has one book and a 2-pack of pacifiers


There are so many people buying for him that I just cannot see buying just for the sake of buying. He is 3 months old and has no clue what christmas is yet.

Don't feel bad. You do what you can, and the writtign her a letter is priceless.

I definitley went overboard this year, because its my son's first christmas but I go overboard for DH as well, so its just my personality...did anyone say shopaholic

My kids are 3 and 1 and we bought some things but not a lot..maybe $150 on each of them. They have no clue about the value and amount of gifts, plus both of their birthdays were in October and we got overloaded. Everyone else spoils them and is very generous, so until they start asking for ipods, a few toys and books are just fine!

I did buy my DD (2 years old) a number of things but each thing was pretty cheap, I spent less than $100 total. I have held back in the past from buying her much since our family buys a lot for her, but this year I couldn't help myself-there are so many adorable toys for little girls out there I wanted the fun of giving her some of them. Plus now that she understands Santa I wanted to make sure she had some gifts under the tree from Santa.

I bought two things for her.
Its her 1st Christmas and so far from what I know...grandma and her aunt have bought an abundance of stuff.

I know all that and then some will be enough and I think she is still too young to understand the opening of gifts.

Im always buying her stuff though

my DS is 3.5 months He got 2 things from sanat and one from my mom and that is it ( will his stocking will just have new binkys thats it)

I didn't. I bought 5 little things for DD 1 who is 2. And 3 little things for DD 2 who is 8 months.
My friends sent gifts too... plus grandparents, etc. It gets to be too much, IMO

Plus, I am more of a birthday present buyer.

I only bought Ella who is 8 months 3 toys and a jacket for x-mas. She really doesn't need much since I have so many toys from when her brother was a baby.

We bought her a kitchen this year which is a big improvement from last year when we got her zilch!

I bought her way too much. I couldn't resist the online deals. Maybe I'll return some...I do regret how much I bought!

I didn't buy that much for DS (he's 15 months as well). Honestly they don't even care at this age. I only got him 3 presents.

We are not going crazy either. We got him a few things and he is also getting stuff from family.

DD's birthday is tomorrow and we got her one toy to open.

We didn't get her anything for Christmas except for new pjs and a new outfit.

We'll be out of state for the holiday and having a big b-day party + holiday gatherings while we are there. We'll have so much to take home with us that we figured we'd hold off on any other gifts until we get back.

I didn't either! Glad I'm not the only one. My SIL went nuts. I envy her being able to spend and spend but we have to save for other things. I think we spent just over $100 on a few items like books, two small toys and a sleep sack. We have to get a new car seat next month. I would love to blow tons of money but I have to think practically. I don't have the space for all the gear (she's going to get a ton being the only grandchild on both sides) she's going to receive and we have to save for other items she'll need, like carseats, college, etc.

I prob. went overboard, I mean he will only be three months and obviously has no clue. For me, I did not grow up with christams, and most of my family does not celebrate, so I just want to make it nice for him, and make up for the fact trhat he will only get things from DH side of the family.

DH went overboard at the Disney Store. He needs to be banned from there...seriously

But you did nothing wrong. When they are so little they really don't understand. We had some friends come over 2 weeks ago to exchange gifts and my 18 month old was more interested in playing with the wrapping paper... Unless the gift was Mickey related... That is his best friend!

I didn't buy the kids much - mostly crafty stuff to keep busy during the winter. Got some books and Max and Ruby stuff.......they LOOOOOVE Max and Ruby.

Ava is 3 and Jack is 2 and they don't really understand the whole Santa and Christmas concept just yet.

Besides, between my inlaws and my parents and my grandparents they get pretty spoiled so I don't see the need to buy much.

I def didnt buy DS too much. He has to many toys and already plays with so little or stuff he shouldnt play with.

I bought him a total of 10 gifts. I already gave him 4 so I didnt have to pack them up when we go to my moms for x-mas.

He is going to get so much from my family.

I did not buy much. DS is 7 1/2 mos, so he will onyl care about the wrapping paper and boxes!

He has TONS of toys (and clothes) so we agreed to just get one or two things. We also know family will get him things too.

I got him the laugh and learn learning home. I wasn't even going to do that, but wanted him to have a big gift. Other than that a personalized towel, sock monkey and some books. So lessthan $100.
