Am i the only one who didnt know there was an...
original "Father of the Bride"? Im watching it now, the 1950 version with Spencer Tracy and Elizabeth Taylor and its making me cry like a baby! I thought i loved the Steve Martin version...i'm loving this one even more!

You can pretty much assume that any movie made in the last 10 years is just a remake of something made in the 50's, 60's or 70's.
Hollywood hasn't come up with any orginal ideas for at least 30 years.

There is a book written in the 1950s that came before both movies! As I recall it was cute.
Elizabeth Taylor is so beautiful in that film!

I didn't know until today. We upgraded to digital cable and I saw it on the guide. When I hit select to watch the end of it, it was the 1950's movie and not Steve Martin.
