just picture this little skinny kid with this throaty southern drawl shouting out CORNNNNNNNNNN in the middle of class.

And the bad thing is, they egg it on... they were learning graphs the other day and the student teacher put corn as one of the things on the graph... the kid was having a field day.

wow. teachers are evil.

Are you crazy??? Do you mean you didn't run to supermarket and battle all the old ladies to stock up on bread, milk, and eggs?? Cause you know those are first things to go in a snowstorm. There may never be eggs again! Omg...and what about WATER??? You didn't bum rush the water aisle? Hey, I knocked over at LEAST two little old ladies to get my water. Sorry. Survival of the fittest. Don't you know that water will END when the snow comes?

What is wrong with you woman!!!!! Chat Icon

It is funny but you just described me ( except I dont knock anyone over)
Its not that I feel that I wont ever be able to get out of the house again, but with the kids I could possibly not want to drive for a few days.. so Yes, I make sure I have enough water and milk and bread and anything else that me, my husband or the kids eat.

I just went to Stop and Shop NOT by choice!! My poor little puppy has a stomach virus and the vet said to give him pastina so I had to go get it. It was a madhouse!!!!!!!!!! I wanted to get a few other things while I was there but couldn't stand the crowds-and everyone was acting so edgy. I feel like screaming IT'S JUST SNOW

Re: Am I The Only One Whose Not "Preparing" for the Blizzard?

I agree too. I went this morning at 9am just because I normally go on Sunday mornings. It was crazy.
My question has always been, why are you going for milk and bread? What can you do with that? I want the junk food-lol!!
Why do people act like they are going to be stuck in their house for a week?? You will be lucky to be in for 1 day and then you have to go back to work and school!!

People act like they are Laura Ingalls Wilder and will be stranded for weeks on end....We went to the museum (Met. Museum of Art) and then to dinner, and then drove home. No crazy shopping hysterics....It's so ridiculous...

Just bought more munchies than normal, and DH moved his car into the driveway so they can plow.

He is from Buffalo and always get a kick out of how LI'ers panic over snow!!!

Yes, Lisa, it's true! Crazy LIer's! Chat Icon Chat Icon

I was on LI once for the threat of a storm and in a grocery store for something quick once and never again! It was absolutely INSANE! I just couldn't get it, myself. I grew up where feet of snow was normal. Chat Icon

You guys coming up to visit any time soon?

Re: Am I The Only One Whose Not "Preparing" for the Blizzard?

I think the whole thing is hilarious. We waited until the snow started last nite to hit the grocery store so it wouldn't be so busy. And I FORGOT to buy milk, eggs and water. Oh well, I guess I will have to do without them for weeks, cuz God only knows when the delivery trucks will be able to get through.Chat Icon
