Amanda Knox
I recently watch the lifetime movie about her
I am just wondering, if you followed the story at all, do you believe she is inncoent or guilty?
The movie did a great job of making me think she was both innocent and guilty.
I never really followed the case but do remember it.

Re: Amanda Knox
I am not sure if she was guilty or innocent, but I do know that there was enough reasonable doubt that she would have definitely been acquitted here in the US.

Re: Amanda Knox
I watched it and also agree that I felt like she was innocent AND guilty lol such a good movie but totally confused me! Hayden was on Rachel Ray and she said that it was so crazy to play Amanda because we, as americans, definitely take for granted our hole judicial system...in Italy you are guilty until proven innocent so that added a lot to how confusing all the evidence seemed.

I agree there was reasonable doubt; but it seemed very shady and she may have had some role in it.

I've done a good deal of research on this case. I don't think there was enough evidence for her to be convicted. Also, evidence was poorly handled and possibly contaminated. There was plenty of reasonable doubt and I believe she should have been acquitted.

My DH and I both watched it and thought the same thing.... I definitely think she was somehow involved, but i'm not sure that I think that she was the killer. The movie portrayed her as being almost "untouched" by her roomies murder, I don't care how "in love" you might be, you would still be a little traumatized....

Re: Amanda Knox
There really isn't a whole lot of concrete evidence against her either. Her confession was most likely made under duress, so that would be automatically thrown out if she was being tried in the US. Other than that, there isn't much else to prove she did it beyond a doubt.
She DEFINITELY acted strangely in the days after the murder. It's uncomfortable to say the least to watch the videos of her and her boyfriend outside the house where her roommate had been found. It made a lot of people uncomfortable, and even looked a little suspicious. But who knows why she acted that way? Maybe she was in shock. Maybe she is a cold hearted killer.
Either way there is no way she would be in jail right now if she was in the US.

DEF agree. I think that she didnt do it, personally.
But they prosecutors can add stuff there. Like when they were talking about the attack they said "And Imagine Amanda said "im going to kill You" and meredith said "God no, please dont stab me, I have so much to live for" and Amanda said back "No botch, your gonna die"
that is an exageration, but pretty close to what they did and CAN do.

Same here! If she were tried in the US she would have been acquitted.
ETA: And I dont believe the idea that it was some bizarre sex love triangle. It's amazing what prosecutors can get away with in other countries, practically making stuff up.

Those crazy Europeans and their justice system!
But seriously -- something to be thankful for over here that you're innocent until proven innocent. Whereas, in other parts of the world its definitely the other way around.

I didn't really follow the case but did watch parts of the movie. It confused me a lot......and made me feel as well that she was both innocent and guilty!
I'm just thankful I'm an American. What was that movie a few years back with Claire Danes? I felt the same with that one too.

Didnt see the movie; saw a Dateline on it. She explained being in the lingere shop after the murder by saying she couldnt get into her apt so she needed the basics, not lingere. I dont know why she acted the way she did with the boyfriend, but that's not proof of anything.
There was something up with that Judge in the case, don't remember what but made me go
I think she's completely innocent.

Re: Amanda Knox
IDK there's far too many holes in the whole story.
and the police there botched the entire job so bad that you can't even tell either way. for that reason she def would have been acquitted here in the us.
I just cannot trust those police that were on the case for anything. makes it really hard to decipher guilty or innocent.
i saw the lifetime movie and i also saw a few documentaries on it as well.

did you see they want to put her parents in jail for 3 years bc they said the police hit her during their untaped and unrecorded interrogation??? amanda said that happened during her trial and bc the parents repeated it they are trying to bring up charges on the parents to put them in jail too!!!
really screwed up if you ask me!!!

Re: Amanda Knox
I read one book that was pretty heavily slanted towards her innocence. And I saw a tv news program, 20/20 or Dateline, about the case, which made me wonder about the integrity of the process in Italy. It seems so corrupt.
I do feel she's probably not as innocent as she's claiming, but less guilty than the prosecutors are saying.

Re: Amanda Knox
I don't think she is guilty. The Italian criminal justice system is extremely corrupt and will do almost anything to have a case go the way they want it to. If you want to see (read) a really good example of this, read A Monster in Florence. In the newer editions, they even make mention of the Knox case. Very eye opening, and we definitely take out criminal justice system for granted!

Think she knows more than she has said. I don't think she actually killed her though. Sad story all around. The smirking pictures always get me though. You shouldn't be happy while you are court being tried for murder.
