AMAZING HIIT Cardio workout!

So today I tried a HIIT cardio workout that my trainer uses. You can do it on any cardio machine or outside. I used the treadmill to do sprints. Here is the workout. The first number is the sprint and the second number is recovery time. All of it is in seconds.

5 minute warm up- I jogged
5 sets of 60s/30s
4 sets of 45s/30s
3 sets of 30s/15s
5 sets of 15s/30s
90 second sprint
Cool Down


It was AMAZING. I worked so hard and was sweating so much! Oh my goodness!! I then did a 20 minute easy workout on the elliptical t just kinda cool down and keep my muscles moving. Awesome, Awesome workout! Just thought I would share!

Enjoy! I do sprints all the time but this format was super!

Thanks! I am going to try this tomorrow. I have been trying to do intervals twice a week and find that they really make the difference. I am literally drenched after 20 minutes of intervals

This is similar to something a trainer told me to do years and years ago...

I used to do this on the elliptical:

5 min - Warm up (not too fast or slow)
2 min - As fast as you can go
1 min - very slow
2 min - As fast as you can go
1 min - very slow
2 min - As fast as you can go
1 min - very slow
3 min - Cool down (not too fast or slow)

Total: 17 min.

It was a nice hard/fast workout. It does something with your metabolism. Chat Icon
