People are complaining about overreach but I’m totally fine with “big tech” silencing racism and violence. Parler was given a chance by Apple to set some community standards. They refused. So oh well.

and Don JR went off in Twitter how it’s control etc etc. But why would you wanna be part of a Community with people who can spew hatred? Wouldn’t a normal functioning human being not wanna be associated with that? Like I wouldn’t wanna chill at a KKK meeting, call me crazy.

I have no issue with it either. As a society we have a moral obligation to limit hate speech and control the spread of misinformation and lies. Parler is dangerous. Good riddance.

Kinda sad that you're ok with any website or social media platform that would allow for the spread of misinformation, lies, hate and violence. Were you even paying attention on Wednesday??? These are common sense moves by Twitter, Amazon, Apple, etc, there is nothing partisan about it.
BTW............."Freedom of Speech" does not apply to private entities. When you sign up for apps/sites you agree to abide by the rules and terms of being a member. If you don't, they have every right to limit or remove you.

What disturbs me is this guy Lin Wood who is an attorney and a staunch Trump supporter posted on parler as the parker were happening, saying to execute pence. He is now saying any reputable journalist should know his comments were rhetorical. He should be arrested immediately. Why does anyone think it's ok to make these kind of comments? Isnt threat against the president or vice president's life a serious offense? But because he implies he's not being literal or was kidding around he is not in any kind of trouble bc he wasn't there? This whole situation is just unreal. So yes I think parler should be shut down of this is what's going on...
ETA he said this while the riots were going egging people on to go shoot Mike Pence

Love the way everyone goes to freedom of speech. One we never had 100% true freedom of speech.
Second no one is stopping anyone from
Saying anything. These companies just not allowing people/products to use their businesses. You don’t like their terms don’t use them!
Anyone who doesn’t like the way Twitter/Facebook/Amazon/google etc run and the decisions they make with what they want to do with their own company could just not use them. You don’t have to be part of it. Just like you have the right to boycott them they have the same rights to do what they want on them!
Do people forget social media platforms where not always around??!!
