Amber of Teen Mom Investigated for Assault
ALL I CAN SAY IS GOOD!

On Tuesday's episode of Teen Mom, Indiana natives and teenage parents Amber Portwood and Gary Shirley were caught on film in a vicious argument that ended with Amber ruthlessly beating on her baby daddy, right in front of their baby! She hit him, she kicked him and to top it all off, she punched him in the face! Gary never physically reciprocated, just stood there and took his beating like a man.
The pre-taped incident was so severe that the police are now looking into the family and investigating a possible assault charge. The police reportedly got two anonymous e-mails urging authorities to look into the incident.
Ah, MTV has started to get clever, we see! Nice touch, alerting the police like that!
Look forward to this future special episode of Teen Mom, where MTV will follow Amber as she gets tossed in jail!

It really disgusts me the double standard with this domestic abuse.
If it was Gary hitting Amber, forget about waiting months AFTER the fact and when the show aired. I bet MTV would have gotten involved and called 911 themselves, to have him arrested.
But she has hit Gary on SEVERAL occasions on camera. (Who knows how many there have been off camera?)
She should be thrown in JAIL!

Good for her. I am just worried that CPS will step in and have Leah taken away. I hate that children sometimes have to pay for their parents ignorance.

I'm glad there is SOME sort of response to this but how long ago did this happen? I don't care what anyone says about preserving the integrity of documenting a "reality show". As a human being, how can you just stand there and watch this happen and not do anything? Sick

Honestly the need to. Although CPS will always try to place the child with family first before placing them in foster care. I think Gary would step up and fight for her.

.... although my heart aches for poor little Leah. I hope Gary and his family will get custody of her before CPS takes her away. He's not perfect by any means, but seems to be a much better parent than Amber and his family seems to be very supportive!

it's about time!! seriously-if it were HIM beating on her he would have left that apartment in the back of a police car!
I just hope something comes out of this and not just a warning. She needs some sort of punishment to prevent her from continuing this behavior!
Put Leah in the custody of her father & his mother!

You can tell Gary loves Leah to death. I think Leah is the reason why he puts up with Amber's abuse. In a court of law the child almost always will get placed with the mother, And that would be a baaaad situation. Leah is going to grow up thinking that it's acceptable to treat the ones you love with yelling and hitting.

They forgot to mention that she kicked him in the back as he was walking down the stairs with the TV!!!
IDK what happened to this girl.. but she sure has a TON of pent up anger coming from somewhere.
They should DEF investigate her and that baby shouldn't be in her "care"

They all seem to have cars and apartments.... so I'm assuming they must be getting paid something... Especially to sign up for seasons instead of just doing the one episode thing.
ETA: I do believe Jersey Shore is making more off it.
And as far as exploiting the kids.. i see your point, but I think overall the show is more supposed to educate teens today and show that it's not easy to be a teen mom and take the glorification out of it....

Did you notice that now everytime they show Amber they show Domestic Abuse hotline information now...?????

My heart just breaks for that little girl who has to live with all of this. While there are people who come out of dysfunctional homes with their heads on straight (Catelynne and Tyler), the vast majority do not.
