Oh trust me, I have heard that one before and I have also been accused of being a "Christ Killer."

This irritates me so. And it is usually people who claim to be so involved in the teachings. Pontius was a Roman.....

Truth is, people are often afraid of what they don't know. There aren't a whole heck of a lot of Jewish populations in the deep south. It doesn't make it right, but I just Chat Icon at it.

As for me, I try to ask questions and inform myself before making such sweeping generalizations about people I know very little about.

I know but IMO you'd have to be pretty naive to truly think that a religion makes you grow horns...KWIM?

Inter: The South won the civil war but the Northerners put it in writing that they won. Southerners have pride and would never admit defeat.

At least she didn't refer to it as The War of Northern Aggression. My parents live in VA and they hear that term A LOT. Chat Icon

Of course. Little do people know that the horns are a PITA when you get a haircut. Chat Icon

Re: An interview with a brief history lesson

this reminds me of parent teacher night when I was in 8th grade (what ever year you learn about the civial war)

the teacher was explaining what we would be learning that year- and mentioned about the North winning

one of the mothers stood up (she was from the south) and said- that's not how we see it- she was dead serious

Not to make it worse, but I actually went to college with a girl who was from the "deep south." I swear to you she was completely convinced that Jewish people actually had tails and horns. I wish I were kidding. Chat Icon

We do. We just push them back in to blend in with everyone else. But behind closed doors....Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I hear ya. When in Louisiana on a Jewish teen tour when I was 14, when a grown woman heard I was Jewish she asked me matter of factly where my horns were. Chat Icon Chat Icon

At 14 I was explaining to a woman in her 40's the origin of that mistranslation that led to Michaelangelo's "Moses" statue having horns.

I'm confused as to why this is funny...didn't the south actually win?
