An update on me....
i am sorry for not posting lately. congrats to all the new preggos and much baby dust to everyone else.
as some of you know, i had a d&c about 10 weeks ago and was waiting for af to show to start ttc again.
well, she never showed....well, actually she showed twice - right on time. but the blood never made it out of my body because i developed a very, very rare disease after the d&c called "ashermans syndrome".
this means that scarring has formed on my uterus and created a "blockade".
it is a very serious thing and has rendered many women infertile. and there are not many surgeons qualified in the world to operate on it.
so fortunately, i found a site, www.ashermans.org" and the women there have begun to help me thru this. dh and i are headed to california in a couple of weeks to have surgery with an "ashermans" specialist to try to correct this nightmare.
please try to formulate an awareness about this. it could be very devastating if someone has ashermans and allows just a regular obgyn to try to correct it. too many women have lost their uteruses that way.
if for any reason, your menstrual flow stops or slows down after any type of gynecological surgery, please see a specialist before letting anyone else touch you.
again, this is something that is very rare, but if i can save just one person from losing their fertility - it's worth this long post.

First, let me say that I'm so sorry! You and DH are in my thoughts and prayers.
Secondly, thank you so much for your post - I've never heard of that and I think it was so brave of you to post and make us all aware.
Best of luck to you and DH as you go through this process. Please know that we are here for you when you need to "talk" about it or just vent.

And its great that you are bringing awareness to this! I have never heard of it and I am sure you are bringing a lot of attention to it which could help many women. Bravo to you!

I just now read this...and OMG I feel so awful that you are ging through this. I had no idea that this was even a remote possibility after a D&C, I never heard of it before. Thank you SO much for sharing your information and what you're going through. I'm sure you have helped a number of people already - juts by reaching out on this site.
You are in my thoughts and prayers and I hope that all goes well with your surgery. I will pray that you and your DH stay strong and get through this soon.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. You are a very brave and intelligent woman. I am glad you found a specialist who can help you through this. I have nothing but admiration for you. If I do come across someone who has been through something similiar,....I will let you know immediately. Having a support group is so important.
Thank you for being so brave and telling your story....this can help so many women.

I first want to say how sorry I am that you have to go through this- I really really want to send you lots of positive energy and let you know that you will be in my prayers
Secondly I just want to say THANK YOU for being so brave and for sharing your personal story with us, so that we are now also educated on this topic .. information is so vital when it comes to our reproductive health and I truly commend you for educating all of us today

Kakarch, I'm sooo sorry that you have to go through yet another ordeal in such a short amount of time, but I pray that all will come out just fine with you. And that the surgery will be successful, and you'll be blessed with a healthy baby in your future.

I am so sorry to hear about this.....I along with everyone else also hope for the very best for you, and wish you tons and tons of good luck in CA. I am glad you will be seeing a specialist for this situation.
I had a D&C about 5 weeks ago and am just now having a tiny bit of blood, not a period by any means, and now I will be so careful to monitor everything. Thank you so much for the heads-up.
Hugs and prayers for you - you will get through this. Please let us know how you are doing.
