Annoyed with doctor's office
I am having a schedule c-section because my little is breeched and my amniotic fluids are to low to try to turn her.
My due date is March 26th, so I assumed that my c-section would be around the 19th.
I was in the hospital on Friday on and spoke to my doctor about my date. He didn't know when it was scheduled for and told me to call his office. So I did, only to find out that they schedule my c-section for March 27th - a day after my due date. After we found this out, we spoke to the doctor again and he said that this was most likely a mistake because they would never schedule a c-section so close to my due date. And he picked the phone up right then and there to have it reschedule.
So, I call his office today to find out my new date. They have no information on file about having it rescheduled!!! So I explained the above to them and they told me that having it scheduled the week before could be a problem because my doctor is on vacation. UGHHHHHHH!!!!! What the heck. And they weren't very pleasant about it either.
I am just so annoyed. I was really looking forward to having it next week for a couple of reason. One - I just want to meet my daughter already and Two - I can't handle going to my 3 doctors visit every week.
My SIL and friend both had 3 c-sections and all of them were scheduled for 7 days before their due dates.
I don't think my request to have it sooner is unreasonable.
Has anyone every heard of a scheduled c-section being on someones due date opposed to the week before?

Re: Annoyed with doctor's office
I would call them up and tell them that this is urgent. No offense, but if your amniotic fluids are low (and your DD is breech), that is usually a good sign that you are going to go into labor very soon (This happened to my sister-she was 3 weeks before her due date and they scheduled her for an emergency c the day after the sono). I would call them up and make a big fuss about it. Would you feel comfortable having another doctor in the practice perform the section?

Re: Annoyed with doctor's office
That is my concern. That if we wait, I will wind up having to have an emergency c-section. The closer I get to my due date the lower my amniotic fluid levels are going to get.
I would be totally fine with one of the other doctors performing the c-section. I am going to call them later on today or tomorrow morning to see if they were able to get it rescheduled. If they don't give me any good news, then i am going to ask to speak to the doctor.

Re: Annoyed with doctor's office
I wouldn't be surpised if we had the same Dr.'s office - mine constantly annoys me.
It sounds like they really screwed up. Definitely speak to the Dr. I would speak with him today if I were you....

Re: Annoyed with doctor's office
They probably assumed you wanted your doctor to do it, so they scheduled it when he would be there.
My doc scheduled a c-section for me for the week of my due date. From what I was told, they can't schedule it before you hit 38 weeks unless they give you an amnio to check the lung maturity. Generally, they just don't want to do it before 38 weeks unless absolutely necessary. My doc was going to be on vacation when I hit 38 weeks, so she scheduled it for the first day she would be back.
So, my guess is that they didn't want to schedule it before 38 weeks, but were waiting for your doc to return.
