Annoying Neighbor - A Vent.
Ok so I have this neighbor, single guy.
Has a pug puppy - she's cute as all hell.
My problem is this...
When he walks her or keeps her outside she's LOOSE! Therefore, she runs all over our lawn. On top of that sometimes the neighborhood kids play with her. So now I've got a pug and 5-6 kids running around on MY FRONT LAWN!!!
This is the LEAST of my problems...
Because of this Arnold and Shelby go NUTS!!! They see the little pup and now they want to play with her! So they're barking, they're crying, they're jumping on the front (full view) glass door or jumping up onto the chair in front of our window and trying to push through the screen.
On MORE than one occasion I've VERY politely asked him to walk her elsewhere and to please keep her off our property b/c it's making MY DOGS crazy.
So it's been a few weeks since we've had an incident (to the BEST of MY knowledge) when yesterday I hear the dogs going crazy outside my side window. Sure enough there's the pug at our fence gate barking at MY DOGS!!! Naturally MY dogs are going crazy and the pugs, AZZ, eh owner is standing RIGHT THERE watching her!!
I was so PIZZED!!! So I lean out the window and AGAIN say to him for the UMPTIENTH hundred time can you please get (insert name) away from the fence, she's making Arnie and Shelby crazy. They want to play with her but obviously they're not allowed in the front without a leash. Plus it's encouraging Shelby who's already an escape artist to try and get out.
He's like, "oh ok, I understand..." then proceeds to do nothing for another couple of minutes and then proceeds to pick her up and walk her away.
Now normally, I'd offer to have him bring her in the back to play with Arnie and Shelby but the pug is NOT FIXED so Arnold (even though he's fixed) tries to mount her. I know b/c this has happened when I'm walking them on their leashes out front. Because she's not on a leash, the little pug will come right over to Arnie and Shelby and Arnold goes to mount her.
Also, this dog is still too young to be out and about, she still hasn't had her rabies shot.
And last but certainly NOT LEAST, it's encouraging Shelby to get out of our yard!! She's doing everything she can to get out and play with this dog and frankly it's ANNOYING!!!
What can I do to stop this?! I feel bad for my dogs b/c they get really excited and this idiot neighbor doesn't seem to give a rats azz.

Let Kenny "talk" to your neighbor.
Seriously, you have done just about all you can do and if this guy doesn't or can't grasp what you're saying then there isn't much more you can do.
Yeah, "TALK".
I do agree, sounds like you have made yourself clear but he just doesn't care. Poor doggie...I don't like the sound of any of it to be honest.

Re: Annoying Neighbor - A Vent.
I would try talking to him when an incident isn't happening. I'd go over to his house (with DH, I think - to be safe) and discuss it with him. I'd be polite, but firm, and basically explain that despite what you've said he continues to let his dogs go on your property and you're very unhappy about it. Tell him that if he cannot keep his dogs off your property when they are loose, then he needs to leash them. Explain that the health and safety of your dogs is a concern. I might also throw in for the heck of it that, now that he knows you're concerned about the health and safety of your dogs, you expect that he will not take more responsibility since he is on notice that he can cause an injury.
I think the key thing is to go over and approach him when his dogs aren't on your property so he gets that this is an important issue for you.

I did exactly this. He was out in the street with his dog and I had just pulled up to the house so I walked over to him said hello and then started to address the issue of him letting his dog on our property and how it drives my dogs crazy. He was very nice and friendly and said he understood, no problem. Then it happened again, so I said it right then and there. I've tried everything I can think of but the guy just doesn't get it.
My other problem is that my husband, though agrees with me, just doesn't think it's as big a deal. So when I complain, he just shrugs his sholders. So I'm sort of fighting this battle on my own.
Grrrr....

Can you put a "Curb Your Dog" sign on the lawn for a few days? DH had a problem like this at work, they talked to the gentlemen, no response. They put up the sign, and it worked. Not sure why but it's worth a shot, I guess.
What an annoying situation!
