another c-section question.. possibly TMI

i'm almost embarassed to post this because i think it'll sound stupid..and maybe a little TMI...

but anyhoo..

do you bleed vaginally with a c-section? i mean seeing as how you're not pushing anything out through 'there'....

trying to decide if i should stock up on my heavy flow sanitary napkins with wings...

Yes, you do bleed vaginally. I bled heavy for a few days, moderate for 2 weeks and then on and off lightly for the next four weeks.

I don't think any question is ever stupid so no worries!

Yes. Regardless of c or v, the body still spends a few weeks after the birth shedding the lochia.

Yep, stock up on heavy duty pads, you're gonna need them!

I bled pretty heavily for a good week or so, that moderately for another couple of weeks, and then light for another couple of weeks.

I never bled heavy at all. Moderate for a week, maybe 2 then light (I can't remember for how long)

I only wore the heavy duty pads in the hospital and at night. During the day I wore a regular maxi pad

I bled ALOT for a few weeks.

Take the pads home that they give you in the hospital - they are great.

Yes. I had a scheduled c-section. So I never had labor.

Bled for about 5 weeks. Heavier the 1st week.

Re: another c-section question.. possibly TMI

I bled heavily for about a week, then like a normal AF for 2 more weeks, then I spotted for another 3 weeks. Def stock up on those heavy duty pads and also see if you can take some home from the hospital. I didn't ask when I left and I wish i would have because they were great.

YES!!! I bled heavily for weeks. Before I left the hospital the nurses gave me tons of the ones I used while there. They worked the best for me.
