Well for me it is abortion. I could not vote for a candidate that was not pro-choice, even if I agreed with everything else they stand for.

Its so scary how our individual rights are slowly being stripped away. And the fact that our own government won't sponser stem cell research disgusts me.

Abortion is a hot button issue for me. So is stem-cell research.

It the end considering the choices given above it's about where I want my money going and where I absolutely, positively DO NOT want it going.

To me what's most important is that I think the candidate has the same views on all or most major issues. To me, the most important issues are education and healthcare (as in making sure every American has both in abundance), keeping well-paying jobs in the US, being pro-choice, civil rights (including gay marriage, although it looks like I'll be settling for civil unions) and several other issues.
