Another feeding question (9 month olds)

Please tell me what kind of table food your 9 month old is eating

also, when do you give them table food

for example, dd has baby food at breakfast (10am), lunch (1pm) and dinner (4pm)

Should I have the sitter replace some of the baby food with "real food" or just give her some table food at 6 after work

please help, this is all so confusing to me Chat Icon

Re: Another feeding question (9 month olds)

We 're having feeding troubles too, but DS seems to be rejecting almost all jar baby foods. So, I've been gicing whatever I can get him to eat for a meal, and then on top of that I give him yogurt, cheerios, those graduates toast pieces or the dried fruit pieces. A lot of times I'll give him those things as a little snack to hold him over to inbetween feedings. When I/we eat, I'll give him a bit of whatever we're having too...english muffin, waffles, bagel (he likes any bread), grilled cheese/quesedilla, chicken nuggets/fingers...he's very picky and we haven't gotten any farther than this.

Basically, we have no set eating schedule other than attempting to eat something for breakfast/lunch/dinner. But he snacks at all inbetween times too. If he seems interested, I let him have it. He'd show me if he wasn't hungry.

Re: Another feeding question (9 month olds)

My ds is about to turn 10mos tom, however since he's been 9mos he's been eating for breakfast : 2 french toast sticks cut up or 1 medium size pancake, or cherios along with a 8oz bottle of formula. For lunch he has a yobaby yogurt and so veggie chips or puffs also with another 8oz bottle and for dinner I usually give him a jar of baby fruit along with what ever we're eating and again an 8oz bottle.

so your dc does not eat much baby food then? Hmmm, I may want to start decreasing the baby food and increasing the real food

When you make pancakes and stuff, do you just make a bunch and freeze them or do you make them each day?

TIA

and you see, I am still giving my dd 5 bottles a day, maybe I need to try to cut that back to 3 like you do....this is really very confusing, like when do you know to cut out some bottles?

Re: Another feeding question (9 month olds)

You can def start introducing table food now - I think it's a good idea. Just cut everything up really small. My DD only at about 11 months really started to love table food. At 9 months it was too much work for her. But now she won't let me feed her anymore, what a mess.Chat Icon

DD is still on (5) 6 ounce bottles too. She doesn't eat cheerios or anything else that requires chewing, so I have a feeling it will be a while before we get to table food.

ok, thanks. I am going to discuss feeding with her ped when we go for her 9 month visit on the 27th

she is drinking about 30 ounces a day plus about 3-4 containers of stage 2 baby food and I give her a few cheerios each day and sometimes yogurt but I am going to start introducing more real food, she loves to self feed so I guess I should encourage that

Re: Another feeding question (9 month olds)

I give Emma Yobaby yogurt and pastina with meat sauce (the same sauce I make for DH and I) in addition to baby food. She's also had mashed potatoes and stuffing and bits of bread, but it's just a little from my plate as opposed to getting her own serving.

At 9 months she still has NO teeth, so I am afraid to give her stuff like cooked chicken. I tend to stick to stuff that does not need chewing.

ETA: the non-baby food is given at dinnertime only.
