another happy toddler bed story..

My story...We have been doing potty training and asked DD if she wanted a big girl bed so really the two were going hand in hand and Alex was being "rewarded" a toddler bed because she has been using the potty. She turned 2 in June and we have DS on the way in 9 days so we thought we maybe pushing it with too much too fast?
We put the bed together while she was napping, when she woke up we brought her down to see it in the living room...she was sooo excited!!
We asked her if she wanted it in her room, she said YEAH! She was excited and we moved the bed to the exact spot the crib was in. She wanted to nap all evening but we waited. We put her to bed a little later too so that she would be tired. It was 9pm and bedtime which is usually at 8:15 was held off. I read to her from the glider all the usual 4 books. She kept asking me to stay and one more book...finally at 9:30 I told her she is welcome to read to her animals and dolls but its time for me to go. I kissed her goodnight and walked out.....she Immediately cried for a few seconds in the bed, ran to the door and stayed crying at the door for less than a minute. Ran back into bed, stopped crying and laid there for another 10 min and fell asleep.ahhhhhhhh... Not a peep all night!!! It was only the first night but I will take one night down...with the baby coming in 9 days I am happy it went well!! Good Luck all trying to transitioning to toddler bed!!!

YAY!!! Did you put a gate at her door? We didn't for our oldest son but I'm thinking I may have to with my youngest.

We didnt do a gate only because DD can not open the door..yet. I think we will put oner of those plastic things on her door though.
She didnt want to nap, and I didnt push it..she was down by 8:15 and as I went to my 3rd story she was DONE! LOL out cold and slept the whole night..Night #2 a success
