Another Q for 18+ month school program - Who has separation classes?
I can't remember some of the locations I saw those classes.
It's an integration class when the mommy come with the child before they go alone.
Could you recommend some places for this?
TIA

If you are receiving any type of service, the service providers and/or agency can make some recommendations for you.

Thanks! I am just inquiring about places with those programs. I will ask the service coordinator depending on which services he will qualify.

are you taking about thru EI or privately?
I know Kiddie junction use to do something like that it's on levittown parkway, In Levittown.
I think most of the center-based programs have waiting room so you can stay close.

"integration classes" are classes where a child receiving services is in a class with "typical" peers. i think that is why you aren't getting the answers you want. i'm not sure what they call it when you as a parent go in a class with your child.

I believe this is called a seperation class.
I think that's what it's called too. The child starts out at the beginning of the year with the parent in the class. Then gradually separates and the child completes the year on their own. I think Once Upon a Treetop does a separation class, but I don't know of any else. If you are in CVS or the like, they usually have those Parent Guide News magazines that have tons of listings in them for schools, etc.

I am looking more towards Eastern Nassau and one that is not like a daycare. More like a preschool setting that he could enroll in a 2 days per week type class for just a few hours after the separation class.
