Another question about how the layoffs work
Assuming LIFO is still in effect... I am in my 9th year of teachng at the same school. I teach 6th grade in a 6-12 school. I am only certified in 1-6,so basically 6th garde is the only grade I can teach in my current school. According to the list that was put out, common branch teachers who were hired after 06-07 are in danger , so in that sense I am safe. But do they seriously just look at all teachers throughout the city and give pink slips or do they look at each school and see who needs what teachers etc etc? I dont even know if I am making sense.. basically with 9 years I shoudl be safe, but I am not convinced. I was thinking I may have a job, but just not at my current school. HELP!

Re: Another question about how the layoffs work
i believe they go throughout the city and layoff whoever was last in in all the areas they are letting go from, then teachers may have to move around to fill in the vacancies left in other schools, so you will probably have a job but may have to switch schools
