Another sonogram, post-Level II?
I have a question...
We had a Level II two weeks ago, and the technician was **pretty** sure we are having a . The baby managed to open her legs for a few seconds, in which the technician says she is **pretty** sure she saw three lines. She felt sure enough to tell us it was okay to register for girl things, and to tell people it was a girl.
We were okay with this, but we are getting nervous that it's a ...and we just purchased furniture yesterday that has a feminine look to it.
I have another appointment in a week, just a wellness visit. Do any of you think I stand a chance of asking for another sono and getting one? I don't want to put the baby in danger...would I be doing that? We just want a little reassurance that the $$$ we are spending is okay and we just want peace of mind.
Thank you

Re: Another sonogram, post-Level II?
My next sono after the level II at the OB will be in 2 weeks at 33 weeks. My insurance will only cover a certain amount of sonograms after which the doctor needs to request pre-authorization, so they didnt do any extra. My DH and I did do a 3d sonogram (which we paid for) and we were able to definitely see that we were having a . But the sono tech was sure at my level II that I was having a .

Re: Another sonogram, post-Level II?
I am also having a girl. They did get two shots, two different people (tech and dr) and said it was a "almost certain it was a girl", could be as certain as they could be from just an US (not amnio). But I still worry about it, since I am having a girl shower and the furniture I want is only for girls. That was at my level 2.
My dr would not do another sono. He doesn't like to do unneccessary sonos...he told me if they told me girl it's a girl....ugh.
So I honestly waited to order my furniture. It's just too much $ to chance. I am having my next sono at 32 weeks (1.5 weeks from now) and hope to confirm then. But I did register for girl things and will be getting plenty of girl things already I am sure. In my case I am probably being my paranoid usual self, since we got a clear shot of the girl parts, but....as I said, the furniture is very expensive and we would lose a lot of $ and it would be a hassle to return so I am waiting on that. But I love it so much, and don't want to chose a gender neutral one... so I hear ya. Your dr might agree to do another one. Mine is a stubborn one...

I am having 3 growth sonos. 1 at 30 weeks , 1 at 34 weeks and one at 38 weeks. (those are all post level II) I don't think you would be putting the baby in any danger, or else why would Dr.s order these tests? I would ask and see what they say. It won't hurt to at least ask. XOXOXO BOTB

Some old school drs do not like extra sonos, nor does insurance cover "unneccessary sonos". So those are two reasons they may not do one if there is no medical need.

Re: Another sonogram, post-Level II?
Thank you everybody. I will ask in a week for another one, but I don't think it looks good.
